Experience and teaching history are provided by the instructor. Instructors are independent contractors, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished InstaSwim's safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. These are eligibility steps, not an endorsement. Review your matched instructor's profile before your first lesson. Some instructors shown are still finishing onboarding; you are matched only with an instructor who has completed every step.

Parent and baby
Mommy & Me lessons with a parent in the water: gentle holds, songs and splashing that make the pool feel familiar.
Baby and toddler lessons in AlbuquerqueLearn to swim
Floating, kicking, breath control and getting back to the wall. Short, playful lessons that build confidence first.
Stroke building
Freestyle and backstroke take shape, then breaststroke and treading water, with endurance built lap by lap.
Technique and endurance
Teens who want to race in winter can use the warmer months for stroke technique, turns and steady endurance work before tryouts.

Albuquerque swimmers get in the water at home, condo and HOA pools and at City pools, where indoor pools stay open all year and outdoor pools open for summer.

The places Albuquerque swimmers use, youngest first.
- 1Babies to preschool
First splashes with a parent
The youngest swimmers start in the water with a parent at a pool the family already knows. An instructor comes to your home, building or HOA pool and keeps things gentle: getting comfortable with water on the face, floating with support, kicking and learning to wait at the edge for a grown-up.
- 2Grade school
Building strokes through summer
Albuquerque's City outdoor pools, like Eisenhower Pool and Sierra Vista Pool, open in late May and close in early August, around when Albuquerque Public Schools students head back to class. Private lessons at your own pool help grade schoolers build freestyle, backstroke, breathing and comfort in deeper water over the summer.
- 3Teens
Stroke and fitness work
Teens can sharpen technique and build endurance with an instructor at the pool your family arranges. Sessions can cover stroke efficiency, flip turns, pacing and longer sets, which pairs well with lap swim sessions the City offers at pools such as Los Altos Pool, a converted indoor pool open all year.
- 4High school
A winter high school season
The NMAA runs boys and girls swimming and diving together as a winter sport, from early November through February. Albuquerque schools compete in numbered NMAA districts, and Highland Pool is one of three City pools used for Albuquerque Public Schools events.

When families book
An instructor comes to the home, condo or HOA pool your family arranges, so there is no commute to a lesson. Albuquerque families book most often from April through July, getting lessons set as the warm months arrive.

Water to know about
Lessons build skills and comfort in the water, but they do not make anyone safe around water, so an adult watches every swimmer at every pool, every time.

She is so good with kids. She is so peaceful and makes them feel comfortable. I was a little worried about my baby having for the first time an instructor. But she did just fine!
Rollie was fantastic! My granddaughter was immediately comfortable with her, and Rollie was able to help her feel safe trying things that usually make her nervous. Rollie was patient, and she made the lesson fun for my granddaughter. By the end of lesson 1, my granddaughter was able to move through the water on her back, something she has never been able to do before, despite being in group lessons for the past 3 summers.
She was on time, very kind, and my kids felt comfortable with her.

Talk to the InstaSwim teamCan I pick my instructor?
InstaSwim matches you with an independent instructor based on your location and each swimmer's age and comfort level. You see the instructor's profile before you pay, and you can request a new instructor up to 2 times per package.
Do we need our own pool in Albuquerque?
Lessons happen at a pool your family arranges: your building's pool, a condo or HOA pool, or a backyard pool. InstaSwim does not own or provide pools. Any pool fees are paid to the pool, not to InstaSwim.
Can a private swim instructor come to our home or building pool in Albuquerque?
Yes, when the pool allows it. For a building, condo or HOA pool, check the pool rules for guests and instructors first, then set the day and time with your instructor. InstaSwim does not arrange pool access.
Do you offer baby and toddler swim lessons in Albuquerque?
Yes. Mommy & Me lessons put a parent in the water with babies and toddlers from 6 months, and lessons for ages 3 to 6 work on floating, kicking and breath control. Tell us each child's age when you register so the match accounts for it.
When do I pay?
Registering is free. Once your instructor is confirmed and you agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. Packages of 2 or more lessons can be paid in weekly installments.
What does it cost in Albuquerque?
Rates are per lesson and set for your ZIP code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate. There is a $20 registration fee per swimmer, refunded only if no lessons take place.
What if the instructor is not the right fit?
Ask for a new instructor from your Match Hub. You can do this up to 2 times per package, and InstaSwim finds the next instructor for you.
Who are the instructors in Albuquerque?
Independent contractors on the InstaSwim roster, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. Experience is provided by the instructor, and families review the matched instructor before booking.
Which towns near Albuquerque do your instructors serve?
Instructors on the Albuquerque roster also travel to South Valley, Taylor Ranch, Loma Del Rey, Rancho Sereno, Richland Hills and Heritage Hills, within their own travel radius. Type your ZIP above to see the rates for your town.
Will lessons make my child water safe?
No lesson makes anyone safe around water. Lessons build skills, comfort and good habits. An adult should watch every swimmer, every time, at the pool and near open water.
