Experience and teaching history are provided by the instructor. Instructors are independent contractors, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished InstaSwim's safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. These are eligibility steps, not an endorsement. Review your matched instructor's profile before your first lesson.

The local season, the places swimmers use, and how private lessons fit around them.
Many Atlanta families have no pool in the backyard, so first lessons often happen at a condo, apartment building or HOA pool where a child already knows the deck and the faces around it.

- 1Babies to preschool
First splashes with a parent
Little ones start in the water with a parent close by, at a familiar building or neighborhood pool. An instructor keeps it gentle: blowing bubbles, kicking from the steps, floating with support and getting used to water on the face, at a pace that suits a toddler.
- 2Grade school
Strokes through the summer months
Grade schoolers use the warm months to turn paddling into real strokes. Lessons at a home or HOA pool work on freestyle, backstroke, breathing and comfort in deeper water, so kids feel at ease when summer afternoons at the neighborhood pool roll around.
- 3Teens
Stroke and fitness work
Teens often want cleaner technique, better endurance or a fresh start after years away from the water. An instructor can work on turns, pacing and efficient breathing, and build steady fitness sets that fit around school and other activities.
- 4High school
Getting ready for GHSA swimming
High school swimming here runs under the Georgia High School Association on a fall to winter calendar. Practice may begin in early October, and the state championships come in late January and early February, with swimming held at Georgia Tech.

Water to know about
The Chattahoochee River runs north of the city through Sandy Springs, and its water stays cold, around 50 degrees, even in summer. Lessons build skills and comfort but do not make anyone safe around water, so an adult watches every swimmer.

Balazs was a calm and patient presence in the pool, encouraging exploration and trying new things while also making sure the children felt comfortable while being challenged. My stranger weary 2 year old had no hesitation with Balazs, allowing him to hold and guide her during the first lesson, a huge win for us!
Davione, is excellent. She quickly assessed where my son was and adapted the lesson to fit his age and level. She was patient and my son really enjoyed the lesson.
Davione has great communication, time management and is great with the kids. Had I known that the time has to be split between children I probably would not have gone with this company. Otherwise, she is a great instructor and I look forward to seeing my kids progress.

Talk to the InstaSwim teamCan I pick my instructor?
InstaSwim matches you with an independent instructor based on your location and each swimmer's age and comfort level. You see the instructor's profile before you pay, and you can request a new instructor up to 2 times per package.
Do we need our own pool in Atlanta?
Lessons happen at a pool your family arranges: your building's pool, a condo or HOA pool, or a backyard pool. InstaSwim does not own or provide pools. Any pool fees are paid to the pool, not to InstaSwim.
Can a private swim instructor come to our home or building pool in Atlanta?
Yes, when the pool allows it. For a building, condo or HOA pool, check the pool rules for guests and instructors first, then set the day and time with your instructor. InstaSwim does not arrange pool access.
Do you offer baby and toddler swim lessons in Atlanta?
Yes. Mommy & Me lessons put a parent in the water with babies and toddlers from 6 months, and lessons for ages 3 to 6 work on floating, kicking and breath control. Tell us each child's age when you register so the match accounts for it.
When do I pay?
Registering is free. Once your instructor is confirmed and you agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. Packages of 2 or more lessons can be paid in weekly installments.
What does it cost in Atlanta?
Rates are per lesson and set for your ZIP code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate. There is a $20 registration fee per swimmer, refunded only if no lessons take place.
What if the instructor is not the right fit?
Ask for a new instructor from your Match Hub. You can do this up to 2 times per package, and InstaSwim finds the next instructor for you.
Who are the instructors in Atlanta?
Independent contractors on the InstaSwim roster, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. Experience is provided by the instructor, and families review the matched instructor before booking.
Which towns near Atlanta do your instructors serve?
Instructors on the Atlanta roster also travel to South Atlanta, Druid Hills, Decatur, East Point, Belvedere Park and College Park, within their own travel radius. Type your ZIP above to see the rates for your town.
When is the high school swim season for Atlanta teens?
High school swimming in the Atlanta area is governed by the Georgia High School Association. Practice may begin in early October, first meets come in mid to late October, and the last contest date is in late January. The state championships follow in late January and early February, with swimming at Georgia Tech and diving at a school pool.
Is the Chattahoochee River a good place for Atlanta kids to swim?
The river is cold, around 50 degrees because its water comes from the bottom of Lake Lanier, and hypothermia can happen even in summer. Visitors are told never to dive or jump in because of submerged rocks, murky water and strong currents, and no lifeguarded season applies at the river parks. Most families keep swimming to home and neighborhood pools.
Will lessons make my child water safe?
No lesson makes anyone safe around water. Lessons build skills, comfort and good habits. An adult should watch every swimmer, every time, at the pool and near open water.
