Experience and teaching history are provided by the instructor. Instructors are independent contractors, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished InstaSwim's safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. These are eligibility steps, not an endorsement. Review your matched instructor's profile before your first lesson.

Outdoor swim season around Dallas runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, the same stretch Richardson's city pools just to the north follow, so families plan their summers around those weeks.
The Dallas swim year
When pools open, and when families bookHow kids come up here
The places Dallas swimmers use, youngest first.
- 1Babies to preschool
First splashes with a parent
The youngest swimmers start with a parent in the water, getting used to floating, kicking and blowing bubbles. Families from Lakewood to Highland Park often begin in a backyard, condo or HOA pool, where a calm, familiar setting makes those first lessons easier for little ones.
- 2Grade school
Building strokes for summer
Grade schoolers work on floating, breathing and their first real strokes. Many Dallas kids spend summer afternoons at neighborhood pools, and nearby Richardson runs the Heights Family Aquatic Center along with Canyon Creek, Cottonwood, Glenville and Terrace. Spring lessons give kids comfort and skills before those pools open.
- 3Teens
Stronger strokes and endurance
Teens who want to join a swim team or simply swim with more confidence can work on stroke technique, flip turns and endurance. Private lessons at a family or neighborhood pool let a teen focus on one stroke at a time and go at a pace that fits a busy school schedule.
- 4High school
A winter season under UIL
Texas high school swimming runs through the winter under the UIL. Regional meets come in late January and early February, and state meets follow in February, with 4A and below swimming at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio and 5A and 6A at the Texas A&M Natatorium.

White Rock Lake and Bachman Lake are closed to swimming by city code, and Lavon Lake's swim beaches in Collin County have no lifeguards. Lessons build skills and comfort but do not make anyone safe around water, so an adult watches every swimmer.

Coach Nathan is amazing! My girls feel so comfortable with him. They have made amazing progress just after 2 lessons. My youngest went from being after to put her head under water and is now giggling and happy when she does it. I definitely recommend doing lesson with Coach Nathan
Austin is great with my 17 month old! He is patient but persistent when she is upset and we’re making great progress with getting her comfortable in the water.
We had a great first lesson with Nathan! He was on time, worked great with our kids, and already saw great progress with them after the lesson! Thanks, Nathan!

Talk to the InstaSwim teamCan I pick my instructor?
InstaSwim matches you with an independent instructor based on your location and each swimmer's age and comfort level. You see the instructor's profile before you pay, and you can request a new instructor up to 2 times per package.
Do we need our own pool in Dallas?
Lessons happen at a pool your family arranges: your building's pool, a condo or HOA pool, or a backyard pool. InstaSwim does not own or provide pools. Any pool fees are paid to the pool, not to InstaSwim.
Can a private swim instructor come to our home or building pool in Dallas?
Yes, when the pool allows it. For a building, condo or HOA pool, check the pool rules for guests and instructors first, then set the day and time with your instructor. InstaSwim does not arrange pool access.
Do you offer baby and toddler swim lessons in Dallas?
Yes. Mommy & Me lessons put a parent in the water with babies and toddlers from 6 months, and lessons for ages 3 to 6 work on floating, kicking and breath control. Tell us each child's age when you register so the match accounts for it.
When do I pay?
Registering is free. Once your instructor is confirmed and you agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. Packages of 2 or more lessons can be paid in weekly installments.
What does it cost in Dallas?
Rates are per lesson and set for your ZIP code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate. There is a $20 registration fee per swimmer, refunded only if no lessons take place.
What if the instructor is not the right fit?
Ask for a new instructor from your Match Hub. You can do this up to 2 times per package, and InstaSwim finds the next instructor for you.
Who are the instructors in Dallas?
Independent contractors on the InstaSwim roster, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. Experience is provided by the instructor, and families review the matched instructor before booking.
Which towns near Dallas do your instructors serve?
Instructors on the Dallas roster also travel to Lower Greenville, Highland Park, Lakewood, University Park, Preston Hollow and Casa View, within their own travel radius. Type your ZIP above to see the rates for your town.
Can my kids swim in White Rock Lake in Dallas?
No. White Rock Lake and Bachman Lake are permanently closed to swimming by city code. Families use White Rock for fishing, boating and rowing instead. The main swim lake nearby is Lavon Lake near Wylie, where the Corps of Engineers runs swim beaches from April through September, and those areas have no lifeguards, so an adult watches every swimmer.
When does outdoor pool season end near Dallas?
Nearby Richardson's city pools open around Memorial Day weekend and close on a staggered schedule in August, with a couple staying open on Sundays through Labor Day weekend. After that, families who want to keep going usually move lessons to an indoor or heated pool they arrange.
Will lessons make my child water safe?
No lesson makes anyone safe around water. Lessons build skills, comfort and good habits. An adult should watch every swimmer, every time, at the pool and near open water.
