Experience and teaching history are provided by the instructor. Instructors are independent contractors, not InstaSwim employees. Every instructor you can be matched with has been background checked, keeps a CPR and First Aid card on file, has finished InstaSwim's safety and conduct training, and has signed the contractor agreement. These are eligibility steps, not an endorsement. Review your matched instructor's profile before your first lesson.

The places Scottsdale swimmers use, youngest first.
- 1Babies to preschool
First splashes at home
The youngest swimmers start with a parent beside them in a pool they already know, often the family's own backyard pool or a building pool nearby. An instructor keeps the pace gentle, with songs, bubbles and short floats that help little ones feel comfortable in the water.
- 2Grade school
Strokes through the long summer
School-age kids in Scottsdale build freestyle, backstroke and breathing as the outdoor season stretches from spring into summer. Families around town also see city spots like McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic and Fitness Center fill up with summer swimmers, and steady lessons at home help kids enjoy those days with more confidence.
- 3Teens
Stroke and fitness work
Teens can sharpen technique, turns and endurance with one-on-one time in a home or community pool. Some want to get ready for a fall school team, while others simply want stronger, smoother strokes for summer and a steady way to stay active.
- 4High school
A fall season under AIA
Arizona high school swimming and diving is a fall sport run by the Arizona Interscholastic Association. Invitationals start in September, Scottsdale schools hold district and city meets in October, and the state championships come in early November.

Water to know about
Tempe Town Lake, a short way south of Scottsdale, is not a swim lake, and swimming there is not allowed outside special events. Lessons build skills and comfort but do not make anyone safe around water, so an adult watches every swimmer.

She was on time, very kind, and my kids felt comfortable with her.
Wyatt is swimming much better after his first lesson! She helped him recover skills he lost since last summer and pick up new skills.
Rebecca was so great to work with. Super flexible and my kids loved her. She adapted to each one of their needs and we appreciate her so much in teaching our kids water safety!

Do we need our own pool in Scottsdale?
Lessons happen at a pool your family arranges: your building's pool, a condo or HOA pool, or a backyard pool. InstaSwim does not own or provide pools. Any pool fees are paid to the pool, not to InstaSwim.
Can a private swim instructor come to our home or building pool in Scottsdale?
Yes, when the pool allows it. For a building, condo or HOA pool, check the pool rules for guests and instructors first, then set the day and time with your instructor. InstaSwim does not arrange pool access.
Do you offer baby and toddler swim lessons in Scottsdale?

What should Scottsdale families know about home pool barriers?
Arizona's pool barrier law, A.R.S. 36-1681, applies at homes where a child under six lives. It calls for a barrier at least five feet high with self-closing, self-latching gates that open outward from the pool, among other details. Local codes can add their own rules, so check with the City of Scottsdale too.
Will lessons make my child water safe?
No lesson makes anyone safe around water. Lessons build skills, comfort and good habits. An adult should watch every swimmer, every time, at the pool and near open water.
