Hi, my name is Courtney! I started teaching swim and life guarding because of my love for the water. As a young gal I always had an affinity for swimming, so it came to no surprise that I later decided to come back something involving my love. Aside from that- I always loved helping others, weather that’s helping them learn new skills or teaching them to be more brave an comfortable in the water. My bubble and fun personality helps me to get along with any age group as well as my patience. When I’m not in the water I’m playing with my dogs, lifting weights, writing stories or singing a song.
Since 2018-2020 I have worked for the City Gym and Pool. While there, I was allowed to work with various age groups, thus, teaching different competition strokes such as freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and basic lifesaving swim techniques. As a result of the years at City Gym and Pool, I was able to gain and improve different teaching methods based on the many individuals I came across in lessons along thus, allowing not only me but students to reach goals while in classes.
My name’s Austin and I’v been a lifeguard and swim instructor for about two years now. I started at Volcano Bay as a deepwater lifeguard. There I set the record for most number of rescues in our 10 ft pool as well as being awarded guard of the month and year. My goal is to bring lifeguarding and swim instruction to as many families as possible to spread water safety and the important skill of learning how to swim.
I have always had a love for being in the water and learned how to swim at a very young age. I participated on swim teams growing up and remained a competitive swimmer for many years. As an adult I went into classroom teaching for grades K-12 for over 10 years. While on Summer break one year I was offered a position as a Swim Instructor at a small private preschool and excitedly accepted the position.
